God and His Scriptures

God (Allah)

  • We believe there is no God but the One God. The Oneness of God is described in Surah Al-Ikhlas to the right and often recited in units of prayers and worth the same as 1/3 of the Quran. Allah tells us who He is by the names and attributes He uses to describe Himself within the Quran. The most common attribute He uses is that of "Ar-Rahman" translating to the Most Merciful. We learn about Allah and call on him by these names. Check out this list, this lecture series by Dr. Omar Suleiman, this book by Jinan Yousef, and this quizlet of names to learn more.
